A range of programmes to support children struggling to learn mathematics

Every Child Counts is a series of programmes that aims to improve mathematics in primary schools at three levels:
• Intensive Numbers Count intervention support provided by specialist Numbers Count teachers for children with the greatest difficulties in mathematics
• Lighter touch intervention support provided by teaching assistants for children with more moderate difficulties in mathematics across the primary age range and into lower secondary age
• Use of the ‘in-house’ expertise and work of Numbers Count teachers to raise the standard of mathematics teaching and learning for all children throughout the primary age range
