Provision of School Transport for pupils with Special Educational Needs, or Mainstream pupils who qualify under the Education Act 1996 and the Education & Inspections Act 2006
Transport is provided for pupils who -
Live over the statutory walking distance (2 miles for pupils under 8 years old and 3 miles for pupils over the age of 8) and who are attending their designated appropriate school.
Have a Statement of Special Educational Needs which includes transport provision
Attend a denominational school and meet the distance criteria
Require transport on medical grounds - supported by documentation from GP/Hospital
Have been awarded transport on appeal
Receive Free School Meals or have a parent receiving the maximum level of Working Tax Credit and meet the distance criteria.
