This course aims to provide delegates with basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene. Please note: Staff whose main role is preparation, cooking and handling of food or who supervise food preparation must attend the Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering.
The course will cover the following topics: Introduction to food safety Personal hygiene Cleaning – keeping the work area clean Contamination – your role in reducing contamination
Please note: There is a compulsory examination to pass this course. It is essential to bring photographic ID (i.e. driving license or work pass) to be eligible to sit the exam.
Successful candidates will receive a certificate from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health approximately 6 weeks after successful completion of the course.
